With nearly three decades of experience in horticulture and landscaping Steven is a premier gardener and landscaper based in HRM and surrounding area.

His interest in the environment and horticulture started when still in high school working weekends and during vacations for Alba Trees, at the time Alba was the one of the largest growers of container tree stock for forestry, agriculture and nurseries in Europe.

Once Steven graduated high school he decided to study forestry at Barony College, during this time and after graduation he worked  for the 13th Earl and Countess of Stair.

After several years working for the 13th Earl and Countess of Stair he rejoined Alba Trees as a production supervisor, supervising the growing of several million trees at any given time. Whilst at Alba Steven continued his education in horticulture and moved to work in local government managing and maintaining parks and gardens. During this time he continued his studies at Oatridge College where Steven obtained qualifications in Amenity Horticulture and Landscape Management.

Since moving to Nova Scotia in 2013 Steven has continued to work in Landscape Gardening, he worked for several companies and in 2020 decided to set up Caledonian Landscape Gardening. After many years in land based industries providing education and guidance to the general public, clients and landscape businesses he felt the time was right to branch out on his own.

Steven's vision for Caledonian Landscape Gardening is to guide and educate our clients on the benefits of hiring passionate and educated landscape professionals. He believes that everyone should be able to have a beautiful outdoor space regardless of property size and budget.
